If your MA plan included Part D, you may also lose drug coverage. You can join a stand-alone Part D plan, but waiting can create a coverage gap and a late-enrollment penalty. If you return to Original Medicare and want a Medigap policy, the guaranteed-issue window is limited; applying after it closes can mean medical underwriting.
