What changed for 2027
Plan exits are a county-level problem, not a headline
A Medicare Advantage plan can leave one county and stay in the next. The same contract can end in Minneapolis, continue in St. Paul, and change its plan ID somewhere else. That is why a national “plans are leaving” article is not enough when you need to know about your own doctors, drugs, and county.
This site joins two CMS files: the October 2026 CPSC enrollment file, which shows where each 2026 plan has members, and the 2027 Part C&D Plan Crosswalk, which shows whether each 2026 contract and plan renews, consolidates, or terminates. The result is a county-level list you can check plan by plan.
Read the fine print. CMS has not published 2027 county service areas in the CPSC files. A plan marked “Renewal Plan with SAR” is continuing in 2027 but may leave some counties. Those specific county removals cannot be named from the crosswalk alone. We label what is CMS data and what is derived.

Medicare Advantage exit questions
Is my Medicare Advantage plan leaving in 2027?
Use the plan exit lookup. Enter your ZIP code, choose your county, then choose your 2026 plan. The result shows whether CMS lists the plan as non-renewed, continuing, or changing for 2027.
What happens if I do nothing?
If your Medicare Advantage plan is non-renewed and you do not enroll in another plan, your MA coverage ends on December 31, 2026. You return to Original Medicare on January 1, 2027. You may lose extra benefits and your stand-alone Part D coverage may also end.
Can I still change plans after December 7?
Yes, if your plan is leaving. The non-renewal Special Enrollment Period runs December 8, 2026 through February 28, 2027. You can join another Medicare Advantage plan or return to Original Medicare.
Is this a Medicare.gov website?
No. Medicare Plan Exits is an independent information site. We are not affiliated with CMS, HHS, or Medicare.gov, and we do not sell insurance plans. Always confirm coverage with the plan or Medicare.gov.
Check your county before December 7
